Our colleague Ainhoa Okariz, from the Engineering Department, will participate as a speaker at the prestigious 6th International Conference on Gear Production 2025, one of the most relevant forums worldwide for the gear manufacturing industry, to be held next September in Garching/Munich (Germany). Her speech, entitled ‘Relevance of case hardening depth on gear performance, challenges on manufacturing and evaluation of big gears’, will address key aspects related to the heat treatment of gears and its impact on the performance of large components.
During his lecture, Okariz will address topics of great current and technical interest, such as deformations derived from heat treatment, inhomogeneity in the carburising depth, control by means of test tubes, as well as the challenges associated with non-destructive measurement (NDT) of the carburising depth, including the use of electromagnetic signals and their correlation with destructive tests. She will also discuss how the depth of carburising affects the calculation and design of gears, and what ranges are optimal to maximise reliability and efficiency.
Ainhoa Okariz’s participation underlines Gamesa Gearbox’s strategic role at the forefront of industrial innovation. Her presence at this conference reinforces our company’s commitment to the development of advanced solutions in the field of high-demand gearbox manufacturing. We hope the presentation will be a success!
