Gamesa Gearbox’s entry has been recognised by Ihobe as the winner in the Companies and Industries category of European Week for Waste Reduction 2025 and will represent the Basque Country in the European final to be held in June 2026.
The award recognises our internal awareness campaign for waste prevention and the proper management of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE). It reflects our firm commitment to the circular economy, driven in particular by the people who make up our company, who are key players in turning individual initiatives into a shared culture with a positive and real impact on the environment.
Last Friday, the Basque Government’s Deputy Minister for the Environment, Josu Bilbao, presented the diplomas to the four winning candidates at a ceremony held in Lakua (Vitoria-Gasteiz); the award was collected by José Luis Herrero, head of Gamesa Gearbox.
Another step towards a more responsible industry.
