We were delighted to take part as speakers and contributors at the conference organised by Ihobe, the Basque Government’s Public Environmental Management Agency, on remanufacturing and product durability – two fundamental pillars for moving towards a more circular and sustainable industry.
The event highlighted how remanufacturing is establishing itself as a key strategy for retaining the value of industrial products and components, enabling shorter lead times, minimising supply risks, optimising costs and reducing the environmental footprint.
Our colleague Óscar López Viña attended in his capacity as Head of Health, Safety and Environment at a conference where the “Practical Manual for Excellence in Remanufacturing” was also presented, a guide validated by six industrial companies in the Basque Country, including Gamesa Gearbox, which will help to strengthen confidence in remanufactured products as the European standardisation process, scheduled for 2027, moves forward.
The new European regulation, with initiatives such as the Digital Product Passport (DPP) and the remanufacturability criteria integrated into the ESPR framework, will mark a turning point for the future of the industrial circular economy.
We would like to thank Ihobe for organising this event and for the opportunity to share knowledge and experiences with companies and technology providers committed to a more efficient, resilient and sustainable industry.
